General English:

Our General English programme enables students to develop their communicative skills through the four domains of listening, speaking, reading, writing and linguistic knowledge (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar).

In lower primary, our focus is on the importance of spoken language in our students’ development across the whole curriculum. The Space Town Literacy Programme emphasis on students’ listening and speaking skills and are supported through interactive, theme based reading lessons by our Native English teacher and local English teachers. Students learn together in groups differentiated by their reading capacity, in such a manner that specific attention can be given to their different learning needs.

In upper primary, writing is an essential part of the curriculum. Extending from the Space Town Programme, our P.4 to P.6 curriculum focus on enhancing students’ writing and editing skills. Writing activities are created to allow students maximum exposure to a variety of text types throughout P.4-6. We are ambitious on what our students can achieve, and we create opportunities for students to plan, revise and evaluate their writing to improve on their present skills, instilling the confidence and a sense of pride in their own work.
